YUBA STREET
EL CERRITO, CA
A transformation that made this house more livable and enjoyable, we relocated the kitchen from a tucked away room and moved it into a prominent living space to create a truly great room. With original white oak floors and redwood plank ceilings, this 1954 rancher needed a break from wood tones.
The kitchen incorporates soft, Italian laminate cabinetry with a mixture of Corian and Caesarstone countertops, paired with natural clay body tile by Heath Ceramics. The home is dotted with midcentury furnishings collected by the owner over the years, as well as custom pieces, such as the marble and bleached walnut dining table, which were paired with found Saarinen Tulip table bases.
